Joyful Moment

A few more hours to go before leaving for H city. A quick update for this week, while H2H off for 1 whole week.

Today is a joyful day with many joyful moments...Pentecost Day cum Mother's day, also Birthday for Little Angel and Wawah. We really had a very joyful day with many joyful moment!

Mixed Feeling

Going to H city, East Asia in 4 days time (12-19/5). 1st time going to a country so far from home...

Although being a lecturer for the last 11 years, and although have conducted countless lectures, tutorials, trainings, sharing God's word and giving speech so on and so forth, I still feel a little bit ..... (don't know how to describe that feeling)....paiseh...

May be I'll be homesick, missing these wonderful kids and my lovely wife....

Remember me and them in your prayer, if you can, during the mission trip....appreciate it a lot....God bless you and yours too!

Exam! Nervous....

Last year this time, Matthew shown me his Study Report Card, and telling me: Papa, I rank number 9 in the class!! Delighted with his performance, I gave him a big hug!! But he whispered in my ear and said: Papa, only 9 student in the class...... no bad huh?

Of course I replied: Yes! No bad lah, still got "more room for improvement!" haha! A quick look at the report card: Overall score 589/600 marks. Wow, the class must be very "keng" oh! 9/9 in the class!

This year, he said to me: Papa I want to work hard to improve my position in the class. Asked him how and whether he need my help, he shown me this:

look like working very hard huh?! sampai kaki pun naik, muka tension!?Yes, indeed, he is!!

(haha, sound like very big exam! No-lah...not as big as this one lah, we are taking it very easily lah..no pressure, no pressure...we are more worry than the teacher for parent-teacher day lah......kekeke!)

万福耕读园一周年了
余民媚见证神一步步带领

步入四月份的当儿，万福耕读园就成立一年了。在去年的七月加入服侍至今，越来越能体会事奉是一条孤单艰辛的路。唯有咬紧牙根继续仰望上帝，因祂应许同在，也见证了祂的一步步带领。若不是上帝的作为，坦白说我真的是没有头绪，无法前进。

从没有学生，接着一位两位，到现在将近有三十七位学生在这儿逗留过，而留下来上补习班、自修、参加活动的有二十一位。这里没有豪华的硬体设备，有的是简单的设施，同工和义工们的默默耕耘和爱心的付出。以“免费”打招牌，免费使用空间，免费补习，对象是邻近组屋区的中学生。

从探访居住附近的妇女会姐妹到目前探访学生家庭，更加了解这些学生的背景，也逐渐得到家长们的认可。虽有些家长不谙华语和福州话或广东话，感谢上帝差派一位义工充当翻译员成了我探访的好搭档。

一位学生也愿意

从 一位义工开始，间中曾有十二位义工参与服侍，而目前有六位继续事奉。诚心感激他们曾付出的一切。令我感到欣慰的是有一些义工愿专注在这里的服侍。曾有好几 次一些学生无故缺课或因为同伴缺席而不要独自来上课，我发火了！而这些义工安慰我，告诉我他们不介意，即使是一位学生他们也愿意教课。我深受感动！曾有人 问我义工的条件是什么？我想最基本的应该是愿意委身服侍的基督徒。

从独自一人策划带领去年的圣诞聚会到今年可以有一批来自三一堂英文部的弟兄姐妹带领新春聚会和复活节布道，我们计划每两个月一次在这里举办活动邀请学生们参与。深切的期待有更多弟兄姐妹的加入这服侍。

从学生们开始时对我客客气气到现在可以跟我谈起生活话题，甚至告诉我一些小秘密，是经过多番的努力主动接触的结果。用大姐或朋友的立场，以同理心去聆听他们的分享是需要智慧和耐心。

需要裁培班

从 接触非信徒学生开始到目前有好些基督徒学生出现，发现这些基督徒学生信仰根基并不稳。有者因为朋友的盛情邀请答应协助参与游神活动；有者因为好奇、好玩、 贪热闹就出席游神活动；有者告诉我所有宗教都是好的！我听了心彷彿掉下低谷。这告诉我目前有多一份任务就是去栽培他们建立基督信仰的根基，导正他们的人生 和价值观。不晓得有哪些弟兄姐妹愿意协助我带领栽培课程？我们需要有华语和国语或英语的裁培班。

当 学生多了，需要也跟着多起来！目前因为资源、经济、空间和人力的有限，英文和数学补习班是我们的重点。最棘手的问题是义工的委身和持续性。经常面对义工无 法继续服侍而必须在最短的时间内找接替人。在这种情况下，以及一些义工请假的当儿，我就尽所能代课。因此我的日子就在处理行政事务、预备教材、代课、教 课、探访、打扫、带领活动，甚至充当辅导员倾听学生们细诉中渡过。经常令我头痛的是安排活动。目前已经停止了周日下午的烘焙班，这也间接失去了接触学生家 人的机会。甚盼望有类似的烘焙班及烹饪班在不久的将来可以重现。

我们不单需要大家的祷告支持，也需要您的实际行动参与成为义工。若您有感动愿意参与，请您好好祷告并与我接洽（082-236235）。我们需要不同的肢体互相配搭各按其职的服侍。这是投资永恒国度的事业，让我们一同来努力。（余民媚，万福耕读园干事）
